Game winning goal by..............Colton Orr?

Yes, the title is indeed true. Colton Orr was credited with the game winning goal tonight in Tampa Bay. The Rangers went on to win the game 2-1. Rangers lit the lamp first about midway through the 1st period. Fedor Tyutin went 5-Hole on Johan Holmqvist to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Rangers got started quick firing shots at Holmqvist, but he did make some great saves along with his countryman Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist was one again, named first star of the game. He made 32 saves and Holmqvist made 27 saves.

Moving on later into the game, Colton Orr scored on a one bouncer going blocker side on Holmqvist, to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead. Ivan Baranka, playing his 1st NHL game, recorded an assist on the goal. Orr has 3 career goals, 2 of them coming against the Lightning. Later in the 3rd Sean Avery left the game, with an apparent hand injury, after taking a huge slapshot from Brendan Shanahan while the Rangers were on the power play. Avery was in a great deal of pain, and left the ice with Medical Trainer Jim Ramsay. Shanahan also saved Henrik's shutout to that point, by pushing the puck under Henrik after it was trickling right over the goal line. The refs reviewed it and determined the puck did not completely cross the line. Lundqvists shutout was ruined with a mere 16 seconds left in the 3rd, when Filip Kuba threw a shot at the net, deflecting off the stick of Michel Ouellet.

Other notes:
Jason Strudwick now has 2 points in his last 3 games.
Jaromir Jagr has only 1 goal in his last 8 games. He also has only 9 points in his last 15 games.
Michal Rozsival did not play due to a knee injury.
Greg Moore, along with Ivan Baranka made their respective NHL debuts tonight.
