NY Rangers: 4W-6L-1 OTL 9PTS 13th in East
Washington: 5W-6L-0 OTL 10 PTS 11th in East
Washington, is looking strong coming into tonights game, after posting a 7-1 victory over the Maple Leafs in their last game. They did that without goal scorers Chris Clark, and Alexander Semin, both 30 goal scorers last season. They also were missing power play point man, Tom Poti. Tonight though, will be a lot tougher facing the Rangers, who are stingy with giving up goals. It seems it isn't hard to put a 7 spot on the Maple Leafs this year, but just about impossible against the Rangers, who have allowed only 22 goals in their 11 games played. Their highest goals allowed this season is 5 in 1 game against the Thrashers, allowing 16 in the other 10.
Alex Ovechkin has been picking up the slack lately, with Clark and Semin being hurt, tallying 4 G and 5 A for 9 PTS in his last 4 games. Michael Nylander has 7 PTS (2G 5 A) in a 5 game point streak. The Rangers come in looking a lot better, winning 2 of their last 3, with Jagr and Shanahan each having a goal and assist last game against the Lightning. Lundqvist will most likely make his 12th start in a row to start the season tonight against the Caps facing off against goalie Olaf Kolzig.
