Philadelphia - 8W-4L-0 OTL 16PTS 3rd in East
NY Rangers - 6W-6L-1 OTL 13PTS 8th in East
The Rangers are rolling smoothly, and it seems as if winning is coming a lot easier nowadays. There isn't any more lulls in their play, posts being hit, and bad coaching decisions. They are currently on a 3 game winning streak, and are only 3 points out of 1st place in the division, and isn't it great that the first place Flyers visit MSG tomorrow night. The Flyers have come out of the gate strong this season, and have been lead by their big splash free agent signing, Daniel Briere who has 15 PTS in his 12 games this season (5 G10 A), and Mike Richards (8 G 6A for 14 PTS). Winger Simon Gagne has been cleared to play by doctors and will most likely return tomorrow night, after suffering from concussion like symptoms, smashing his jaw against the shoulder of Florida Panthers defenseman, Jay Bouwmeester in an October 24th game.
On the other hand, the Blueshirts have gotten their act together, and have won 3 in a row now, and 4 of the last 5, defeating the Devils Saturday night 2-1 in a shootout. Petr Prucha had the only goal in the shootout, and Scotty Gomez tallied his first goal against his former team, and played an all around great game. He was called for an imaginary hooking penalty also when he lifted the stick of Zach Parise on a great defensive play, but according to the refs eyes, he apparently hooked Parise instead of the stick. Henrik Lundqvist has also been stellar all season, making 28 stops against the Devils, and earning the first star of the game Saturday night, his GAA is now a stingy 1.61, and he just keeps getting better and better, but expect him to have the night off against the Isles Tuesday of the Penguins Thursday, as he played every single game this season, since the Rangers have 3 games in the next 4 nights.
Game time is 7 PM tomorrow and it will be nationally televised on Versus.
