Ny Rangers top line defenseman Marek Malik may have the night off tonight against the Atlanta Thrashers. With his inconsistent play and lack of using his body to shield opposing players from the puck, NY Rangers coach Tom Renney may have seen enough. Malik and crew costed the Rangers 3 goals in 52 seconds against the Senators last Saturday night, and coach Renney is doing what he can to right the ship they call the Blueshirts.
Wednesday, Renney had Malik practicing with Jason Strudwick in what looked like the defense pairing that will sit out tonight's game in Atlanta against the winless Thrashers, who, having fired Bob Hartley, will be coached by GM Don Waddell.
